Trainee Lawyer

Akur Aleer is a South Sudanese Trainee Lawyer, who started working at CFIL in 2021 as a Paralegal to Carina Ford. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (International Relations & Legal Studies) from the University of Southern Queensland.

Before joining CFIL, Akur lived in Toowoomba, Queensland with her family. She moved to Melbourne to pursue her passion for immigration which has led her to Carina Ford Lawyers. Akur’s interest for migration law stems from her own experience, migrating to Australia with her family from Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya in 2003. She has always felt privileged to have migrated to Australia and would love to give back through assisting clients to do the same.

Akur prides herself in her hard work, empathy, and reliability. She hopes to have a long and prosperous career in immigration. She is looking forward to being admitted as a practising lawyer in the latter half of 2023.

Akur is also fluent in Dinka and welcomes any clients who may require her support in translation.
