Siobhain Galea

Lawyer

Siobhain joined Carina Ford Immigration lawyers in July 2022, having obtained a combined Bachelor of Arts and Law with first class honours from the University of Tasmania in 2018. Siobhain was admitted to practice in September 2021.

Following graduation, Siobhain worked as a legal researcher on war crimes in the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court. She then worked as an associate in the Migration and Refugee Division of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, particularly in the areas of partner, family, and protection visas, before briefly working in legal policy for the Chief Magistrate.

Siobhain is keenly aware of the injustices facing migrants and refugees in Australia and has a particular interest in refugee law and law reform. She is committed to providing ethical, thorough, and compassionate legal services. Since joining Carina Ford Lawyers, Siobhain has worked on a range of matters, including partner, protection, family, student, and skilled visas, as well as visa cancellations and ministerial intervention requests.

Siobhain volunteers with the Australian Red Cross on the Victorian Youth Advisory Committee and Victorian International Humanitarian Law Committee. She is also a Telecross caller, doing outreach calls to older members of the community.
