Galen joined CFIL in July 2017 following a year at Maurice Blackburn Lawyers’ pro bono department. He completed a Juris Doctor at the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the College of Law in 2016. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in international relations from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.
He has significant experience working with refugees at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre and has been involved in numerous LGBTI organizations in Australia and overseas. With a strong interest in human rights and international law, Galen is a committed client advocate. He has a particular focus on protection and humanitarian visas.
