Jaskiran completed her Bachelor of Arts (Politics and International Relations) and Bachelor of Laws at Macquarie University and is currently completing her Master of Laws in International Security Law with the Australian National University. She was admitted to practice in NSW in 2015.
Prior to joining CFIL in August 2018, Jaskiran worked as a Claims Assistance Provider on Nauru and in Australia, providing legal assistance and representation for claimants in Refugee Status Determinations and merits review applications. Jaskiran has also provided IAAAS assistance for the Legacy Caseload cohort.
Jaskiran has provided advice across the immigration portfolio and has particular experience in advising on Protection visas, TPV/SHEVs, Partner visas, cancellations, merits review and judicial review applications. She has experience appearing before Tribunals and assisting on matters before the Federal Circuit Court, Federal Court and High Court.
Jaskiran has been working with vulnerable clients for the past seven years – as a lawyer and caseworker – and became a registered migration agent with Salvos Legal Humanitarian in Sydney. She has an interest in continuing to work with vulnerable clients across the immigration portfolio and provide efficient resolutions regarding their immigration needs.
