Before joining CFIL, Siran worked in a number of roles, both in private practice and for Commonwealth and Territory courts and tribunals. Having previously worked as a criminal and family lawyer, Siran regularly appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court, Supreme Court, Federal Circuit Court and Family Court.
Following her move to Victoria in 2011, Siran worked as a Legal Officer and Case Officer at the former Migration Review Tribunal and Refugee Review Tribunal (now the Administrative Appeals Tribunal). In 2013, Siran was awarded a Master of Public and International Law from the University of Melbourne.
Siran advises across all visa subclasses, and has a particular interest in character visa cases, tribunal applications and judicial review proceedings. She regularly appears in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Federal Circuit Court.
