Law Clerk
Sanghaya graduated from the Juris Doctor at Monash University as the recipient of the Juris Doctor Law Dean’s Scholarship. Prior to this, she completed a Bachelor of Arts (double major in Criminology and Media & Communications) at the University of Melbourne.
She joined CFIL in August 2024 as Paralegal and commenced the lawyer pathway at the completion of her studies. Before working at CFIL, she worked in various community legal centres, including volunteering as a paralegal and the fundraising team at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. Sanghaya has also completed several internships as part of her two degrees. Her interest in migration law grew throughout her studies and work experience, and has been involved in the support of migrants and refugees wherever she has worked.
Sanghaya has assisted in a variety of matters, including protection visas, child visas, partner visas and citizenship applications; she has also assisted in matters at the Administrative Review Tribunal.
Sanghaya aims to be admitted as a lawyer upon the completion of PLT from mid-2026.
